'Twas the Night Before Trippin'...

Wednesday night -er...Thursday morning, June 9, 2011, 12:13 a.m. Stuff piled on the dining room table (traditionally our "staging area"), laundry still in the washer, half of what we need organized enough to go, and today is the last school day before summer break. Tomorrow - er...later today, we'll be headed to North Carolina - Boone, NC to be exact - astride our trusty Gold Wing. It was well over 95 and super humid today, but at least dry. We're rooting for more of the same (well, maybe not quite so hot but definitely dry!) when we hit the road around 3:00 this afternoon. We'll be packing only what we can fit in the trunk and the side packs of the bike. This is something of a challenge as we'll be gone for 9 or 10 days. Hopefully, there'll be a washer at the condo, or things might get ugly after a few days in the same socks.
Since we had two week's worth of condo time to use before disposing of our deed, we're using one this week and one in July on the east coast of N. Carolina as neither of us has seen the Outer Banks. (We figured, 'What better time to visit the Carolina coast than during hurricane season?') Anyway, that will be a blog for another day.
I'll be haulin' the same Toshiba laptop with us that kept us connected and blogged in on the trip to Alaska and will try to keep up with this blog as we go.
Wish us luck and dry weather!
